Floating Needle System
The floating needle system was developed by AMF Reece to produce a “true hand stitch”. The machine uses a double pointed needle with an eye in the middle. By the use of two needle bars, one above and one below the work plate, a length of thread is passed through the material on every stitch, in the same way a seamstress would work, with flawless consistency and incomparable speed.
Other machines of this type, compared to the Deco 2000, use a single needle bar and an “open eye hook” type of needle. This type of needle makes larger penetration in the fabric, which can cause damage to lighter and more delicate fabrics by snagging the fabric. Our machine, Deco 2000, is the only real Imitation Hand Stitch machine ensuring consistent quality on all types of fabrics.
AMF Reece offers different sizes of floating needles to insure high quality performance on different types of materials. It is necessary to use different needle bar kits for specific needles.
Needle Positioning Motor
The needle positioning motor automatically moves the needle to the middle fabric position for turning a corner. The operator can also automatically position needle up for needle threading.
Microprocessor Control & Operator Touch Screen
The Deco 2000 is controlled by a PLC system and operator friendly touch screen, which uses a graphical display. All operations such as stitch type, sewing speed, stitch length, thread trimming time etc. are performed using easily understood symbols, which require no language translation.
Sewing Speed
At sewing speed of up to 500 spm (dependent upon the material type and thread quality), the Deco 2000 is up to 10 times more productive than hand sewing, with superior quality. The Deco 2000 is faster than any other machine in the market.
Wide Range of Stitch Types
Type of stitching can be easily selected by a simple touch of the screen, ranging from a pick stitch, saddle stitch to various style stitches (long and short variations), for which the length of the stitch can be precisely specified.
The microprocessor contol enables the user to design unique decorative stitching effects, in addition to the standard formats. Each custom stitch pattern comprises a sequence of 10 different upper and 10 different lower stitch lengths.
Reversed Stitching
All types of stitches can be reversed during the sewing cycle at any speed (for example at the jacket lapel break point) by a simple touch of the screen. This increases productivity and minimizes thread waste.
The stitch reversal function allows instant change over, from long/short to short/long (as it is widely used at the jacket lapel break points).
Condensed Stitching
With the help of this optional accessory, it is not necessary to do separate bartacking operation to secure the beginning and end of the sewing. The operator easily sets the condensed stitch parameters - condensed length and stitch density on the touch screen display. The condense stitch can be activated anytime during the sewing cycle by pressing the left foot pedal.
Stitch Density - 5 to 30 Units Max. Stitch Length- 300 Units 10 Units displeyed on the touch screen constitute approximately 1 mm depending on the used material
Threads recommended by AMF Reece
Either a standard cone thread or pre-cut wax thread can be used with the Deco 2000 machine depending on the machine modification.
When sewing the true “pick stitch” it is necessary to use pre-cut waxed silk thread. These threads are specially twisted and waxed to simulate the hand stitch. The threads are available in various colors and sizes and can be ordered through our Spare Parts Department.
